Kanyambo Muriella, RM
Midwife | Co-Founder & Treasurer
Kanyambo Muriella was born on 4 September in Gisozi, Mwaro Province, Burundi. She completed her studies in health sciences, specialising in midwifery, at the University Institute of Health Sciences and Community Development (ISS/DSC) in Bujumbura in 2016.
Since 2018, Muriella has been working as a midwife at Kira Hospital, where she provides maternal and newborn care. She is a co-founding member and Treasurer of The Midwife in Action’s Association (MAA) and also serves as a Twinning Coordinator, supporting professional exchange and capacity-building initiatives.
Muriella is married and the second of six siblings. She is also an active member of the Association for the Promotion of Burundian Girls, reflecting her strong commitment to women’s empowerment and the advancement of girls’ education and health in Burundi.
