The Midwives' Twinning Project between the National Midwives Association of Uganda (NMAU) and the Midwife in Action's Association - Burundi (MAA). This dynamic collaboration unites two professional midwifery associations committed to strengthening leadership, governance, and visibility of midwives across East Africa.

While both Uganda and Burundi have made strides in improving maternal and newborn health, they continue to face challenges in meeting SDG targets due to limited resources, skills gaps, and under-recognition of midwives' critical role.

This twinning project seeks to address these gaps by fostering inclusive networks, building capacity, enhancing member engagement, and advocating for midwives' essential contributions to quality reproductive, maternal, and newborn care.
