Iradukunda Parfait is a dedicated midwife from Burundi with a strong commitment to maternal and child health. He brings extensive experience supporting women, raising public health awareness, and improving reproductive healthcare across rural communities.

As Vice President of the Supervisory Board at MAA Vyara Uheke Burundi, affiliated with the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), he oversees strategic initiatives to strengthen midwifery services. He is also an active member of Group B Strep International, contributing to awareness and prevention of Group B Streptococcus infections in newborns. His participation in the BRIDGE program by Lightful, in partnership with ICM, has further strengthened his expertise in communication, reproductive health advocacy, and maternal and neonatal mortality prevention.

Beyond healthcare, Iradukunda Parfait is involved in agriculture and livestock breeding, integrating rural development with his mission to support community well-being. He currently volunteers as a midwife at Carama Medical Center, providing essential care and guidance to women and newborns.

Born as the third child in a family of twelve, he overcame economic hardship in childhood and chose midwifery to make a tangible impact in his community, particularly in family planning and maternal health. Guided by faith in God, he is driven by a passion for serving communities, improving maternal and child healthcare, and promoting sustainable rural development.
